Vitiated Skies Of 2009
This is a gloomy shot V, what happened to the one with skies! it's gone before I get to read your reply :( this is an environmental vandalism and down in Aus we have plenty of these smokers :(, hope there will be a better alternative soon.. have a very bright day :)
I think it's a great shot...one with atmosphere. Nice low horizon, nice B&W conversion with a grainy affect enhancing the photo in my opinion and great lighting technique.
Bom dia Vlad
Your impressive B/W in a good composition with great impact.
Interesting and great to think about...Your note)
(and I am curious about what the result, I mean there is no perfect system wich one of the experiences you think is more atractive to have the freedom or to have the dialogue...of course the good think is to be free and have feedback)
The pollution of the chimney stacks almost appears to be contributing to the grainy sky here, so it works exceptionally well. Good tonal range & composition. Tfs!
Good morning V! Ominous, gritty looking sky .. of course the grain here is perfect for the mood of the shot IMO. I wondered about a different crop so the smoke stacks were not so centrally placed .. like maybe crop more off the left ??
Vlad ... I don't know what's happened, but I hope you appreciate the dialogue that still remains....
Hi. Good journalistic shot, would do well accompanying a newspaper editorial on pollution. Thanks for sharing. Regards Phil.
Hi Vlad..nice gritty black and white shot...well done.
"Waw ! A cloud fabric !" as said to me a little boy when we have seen a similar scene. In my opinion, the picture have a too great part of sky (rule 1/3). An other version in WS.
A powerful shot, that oppressive, low-hanging sky with the smoke from the chimneys seeming to blend into it is the ultimate "greenhouse" statement.
Composition is fantastic and the grainy texture you introduced is great too. Even the lake/water looks suitably unwelcoming.
Re: the points-exchange system. For many, especially beginners, points are a motivation and encouragement that really have a benefit. For those who lose track of what they really mean, a greed for "scores" certainly upsets the whole balance, but personally I find that if you give honest critiques and drop a one-point smiley here and there, you can strike the right balance of reward-and-feedback.

Powerful image, artistic (i love the grainy texture and the huge grau sky) and powerful (strong and self explaining message).
thanks and congrats

phantastic image with much too less attention! But for this you need indeed a "real" baryta print!!
