Taken in a commercial centre, mirrors on the wall, some deformed and multiplied images and reflections.
When posting, it made me think about a film I like very much : Lost in translation. Maybe because the main character at random on the shot seems to be lost ... in translation as we may feel some days.

Some extracts from the web about the story :
Bob Harris (played by Bill Murray) is an American film actor. Mid-50s, a semi-retired movie star, he is there to make $2 million doing a whiskey ad. He visits Tokyo to appear in commercials, and he meets Charlotte (Scarlett Johannson), the young wife of a visiting photographer. Bored and weary, Bob and Charlotte make ideal if improbable travelling companions. Scarlet is looking for "her place in life," and Bob is tolerating a mediocre stateside marriage. Both separately and together, they live the experience of the American in Tokyo. Bob and Charlotte suffer both confusion and hilarity due to the cultural and language differences between themselves and the Japanese. As the relationship between Bob and Charlotte deepens, they come to the realization that their visits to Japan, and one another, must soon end.
The meaning of our lives, the purpose, the dreams and the expectations forced upon us by others. "Translation" means to explain in simple terms. How do you "translate" what life is ? What is it supposed to be about ? Different answers for different people at different times in their lives. "Lost In Translation" indeed and it has nothing to do with pronouncing hard R's.

It was a really good movie. I like the composition with vivid colors. Lines are also impressive...

jolie jeux de miroir SYLVIE.
avec une bellle perspective.

This looks great Sylvie! Mirror reflections tend to be an interesting motif, but this time probably because of the sectioning of the mirrors, the image they reflect is very interesting as it's multiplyed and at the same time reflecting a slightly different image in each of the sections. Very cool.
The radar was on!

Same scene, different points of view.. like the life itself!!
Great idea and very well seen.. hopefully we don't need glasses to "see" :)
I specially like the man, standing there alone almost suspended in his own time.
Beautiful work!!

pour tes 2000 points ... oupsss ... La sagesse n'attend pas le temps. ;-) ...
beau coup d'oeil
Celle la j'te la pique.

Great movie by the way. One of my favorites. Had such an amazing feel to it as does this photo. Excellent capture and composition. Wonderful colors.

Salut Sylvie

J'adore, tres bien rendu !

such a beautiful play of mirrors....our lives are sometimes like reflective, and we must learn to learn from what we see. i love the movie, and i love your note too.

I saw that movie. I hated it. I think for me, something really did get "lost in translation." I was with my Japanese friend, she loved it, because nothing was lost to her. But, I like your image much better. ;) It reminds me a little about the theory of multiple dimensions, and how they exist next to each other. Plus, also I like reflections, and how this one changes is very cool. Bravo!

I am impressed hov the movie title fit good to the photo.:-)
I love the "broken" efect...catch me if you can:-)
Master of reflection...I adore it

Great picture. I really like this fragmented aspect of it. It makes me think about the fragmented aspects of culture today. And also to reflect about TrekLens as part of this aspects. This photo, in some way, summarizes what we can see and how we can see the world and it's things in TL. Your image takes me to other part of the globe, traveling in the links of other persons' comments, and look how they see the world. This images together works like a mosaic made with fragments of people's visions, or a kind of kaleidoscope.

Great image and notes, leads you into the image nicely, well done.

I see I missed a few great posts from you lately. I will come back to the others, but this one got my attention from drawing from one of the greatest films I have seen in recent years. And I see from your note that we won't get to disagree over that one.

Sylvie, I admire you for this ability to observe such compositions. It's almost lomomatic effect. It's a great work. :-)

Bonjour Sylvie,

Hey, Syl, this is WONDERFUL, superbly done, you go girl, M (*_*)

Nicely done the way you play whit the mirror. it looks like something taken of a old film...
