i believe this is a Chow Chow. Very nice photo. It would be nice if you would give people a note about the breed. :-)
they have black tongues. Maybe next time you can get a photo of that particular characteristic of the dog...just as useful info for your viewers. (I'm a dog lover) and really like this photo. You captured his sweet face nicely. :-)

Hello Henri,
This must be Chow Chow,an ancient breed of northern Chinese origin,known in China for at least more than 2000 years.It's an all-purpose dog used for hunting, herding, pulling and protection of the home, but nowadays serves mainly as a puppy pet. The essential to true Chow type to tell it from other dogs is its unique blue-black tongue.There are five colors in the Chow: red (light golden to deep mahogany), black, blue, cinnamon (light fawn to deep cinnamon) and cream. Hope this note is of some use to you.
