[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
These are just a few of the hundreds of Trulli rooftops with their unique shape and mode of construction using slabs of limestone, which farmers have lifted when clearing the fields to grow olives and almonds around this area.

Each builder has his own trademark top stone which indicates who built the place.

Notes from the web
Alberobella : the capital of the trulli in Apulia

First, some basic facts. Trulli, which have been in the Puglia region for around 5,000 years, are dry-stone structures originally built to house the local peasantry.
They consist of round or square walls made from solid blocks of limestone, a natural resource in the Puglia region, and these can be up to six feet deep.

The density of the walls is said to maintain a constant temperature inside the buildings, offering cool respite from the fierce heat of summer and cosy protection on nippy winter nights.

But what makes it truly a trullo house are the striking conical roofs topped off by pawn-like pinnacles. These cone roofs are formed by laying hand-cut

When people travel to Apulia they will never forget visiting Alberobello. This city is famous because one of Apulia’s most popular tourist spots: the trulli.

Alberobello owes its fame to the complex of about 1400 trulli and recognized by Unesco as part of humanity’s historic and artistic heritage – found in the districts of Monti and Ala Piccola.

It is impossible to find a similar place in the world and that is why Unesco recognized in 1996 included the capital of trulli among the goods representing the inheritance of mankind.
