Wow ... a white heron! We have blue herons around here occasionally, but I've never seen a white one.
Great capture. Love your comp with the dead tree limb and its reflection. Looks like a little OE on the bird. At first I was thinking you could have cropped up higher from the bottom, but then saw the heron's reflection, and realized why you didn't.

Hi Murray,
Excellent spotting, such a majestic looking bird. Great PP work over the original. There's a place around the corner from me called 'Heron Point', I really must go there for some photos some time. The reflection on the water is good bonus here, clever thinking with the compo too. To be picky, I may have decreased the levels on it's back a bit as it's getting close to being OE, but still works well as it is.

Hello Murray,
Your composition and positioning of the heron is exact and classic. I must confess that I played with this image yesterday and tried on different WS, mainly for my benefit - including b&w conversion, spiking contrast and exposure, etc. In the end, the versions were not improvements over your original.
