Sunset at Ouchy Harbor II

A few weeks ago I spent about 30 minutes on the shore of Lake Geneva near Ouchy Harbor, watching the sun set and snapping photos. Within that time I was able to get 25 or 30 really good images, many of which I have already posted on TL. Typically I'll go out for a shoot, take maybe 100 shots, and come back with maybe one or two images good enough to post. It's amazing how productive you can be in a short period time when good light and good scenery come together.
In this image, I liked the way the crescent cut-out in the cloud seemed to match the curve of the "C"-shaped sculpture below it.
Per Wikipedia: "Ouchy is a commune, port, and popular lakeside resort located south of the city of Lausanne in Switzerland at the edge of the Lake Léman (Lake Geneva). Very popular with tourists for the views of nearby France (Évian-les-Bains, Thonon), Ouchy is also a favorite area for rollerskating (Lausanne is considered a capital) and for skateboarding. The incredible views of the lake and the Alps, and the cooler air in summer have made Ouchy a popular place especially in the summer months. There is a major cluster of hotels and restaurants around the port. Once a fishing Village, Ouchy was incorporated into the City of Lausanne in the mid-19th century to serve as a port on Lake Léman. |

A wonderful atmosphere of sunset in this bright shot of Lake Geneva.
Spectacular colors both in the sky and water!
The horizon is high lighted with that fantastic yellow cast!

The sculpture structure looked like a swan in the thumbnail. A superb sunset, with wonderful warm colours, & good sharpness & silhouettes. Tfs!

Superb layers of hues and colors on this soothing image. The positioning of the well defined sculpture against the brightest part of the sky provide good contrast. Glad to hear you had a good photo session on this day - we all need that. Regards.

Hi Sandy, well if you had not added the middle paragraph of your note i would , the big cloud seems about to gulp the sculpture down so menacing it appears ! Great sky indeed , good to see a sizeble part of it in pinky tints and i like the golden hues down on the horizon , yep it's a very nice sunset ! Good job ,
