Picture of an Heliconius Hecale from South America.

The picture was taken at the 2006 Butterfly go Free exhibit at the Montreal Botanical Garden. There was over 2000 butterflies in the Main Greenhouse and almost as many photographer trying to take the picture of their life ;-). This is one of my capture from my trip to the exhibit.

Excellent crisp focus - was this butterfly in the air? It looks that way! I don't particularly like the "rounded edge" framing, but that is just personal preference. I also have to admit what caught my eye was the plant in the background, which seems to be Lantana camara (appropriately also South American) which is a major invasive problem species in southern Africa. Nice photo!

Jolie composition Alain, les couleurs sont bonnes et l'exposition bien réussie. Toutefois le focus semble avoir été fait sur la feuille de gauche plutôt que sur la tête du papillon. Bravo et merci.
