|[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista|
|What is this? You may think this morning . Not the usual stuff . Robert is presenting us !|
I will try to explain briefly the story behind this one.. First, among the main cultural activities, Trois-Rivieres is hosting the International Festival of Poetry. It is certainly not as popular as a Music Fest or the GP3R , but it does have a significant impact to the local economy . But most important it does in our educational programs.
To give more visibility to the Festival, the City installed numerous citations by poets on buildings , at the corner of many streets, and touristic attaractions.
Well , I present you one of those today. I noticed it, waiting for my geeen light (^_^) on my way to the gym earlier this week. Yesterday morning , I stopped to take a photo after I finished my work at the office.
Ne parle pas embrasse-moi
étouffe moi d’un autre langage qui
me fera vivre.
Poet : Marcelle Roy
In English in could be translated :
Do not speak kiss me
chokes me of another language which
will make me live.
An humorist mentioned poetry is simply shuffling words of a sentence. Well seeing this quotation on the wall of the local Striptease Club ( named Scrabble ! ), I could not resist in posting this one, as it seems these words are expressed by lady in the window., like if she could talk ( like the live frames in the Harry Potter movies ) .
Just take this one as a Street life scene, a modest and hopefully humoristic contribution to the promotion of the Festival.
Technically : I had to work the perspective to straigthened the walls and lines. I cleaned the portrait of the lady separately too. Washed the bricks (^_^), Darkened the Citation to make it easier to read. Resized, sharpened, framed and titled.
I hope nobody will be offended by this post, including my old school mate, and city mayor (^_^).
Have a great Day!
Trois Rivières International Festival of Poetry: A Retrospective
In the early 1980s, Gaston Bellemare, co-founder of the poetry press Écrits des Forges, had a flash: It was time to “create an event,” a way to instill verse into the collective heart of the public. Disappointed with poetry’s low visibility in the media, he decided that such an event would have to be big enough to generate widespread public interest. His conclusion? Bring poetry to the people—and on their own turf.
These days, poets and journalists stream in from all corners of the world: Portugal, Mexico, France, the United States, Australia, and Lebanon to name just a few of the many countries cognizant of the enormous visibility that the festival affords them. Festival website

a surprising shot in your repertoire robert! certainly an entertaining one. I like the colours here and the reflection caught in the window,
enjoy the festival!
LOL!!!! Bravo pour cette vision.
Et j'imagine l'expression de certaines personnes ici un peu prude :-).

Salut Robert, Bien vu, j'aime aussi ta note explicative . Bon travail technique et gros changement dans le style mais toujours bien fait et avec goût .
Hi Robert. Vastly different from your normal offerings and well seen and captured. Nice to see that this particular industry also became involved in the festival. Good detail and colour and well presented. TFS,
Many thanks for your comment on ‘Tamar Tranquillity V’
It is all about seeing an opportunity and then having the skill to capture the image. You have done well with this very interesting photo. TFS. Great work.
