Strange Title isn't it ?

Well actually , this little piece of land , I see it everyday I go to the Port of Bécancour, part of the Becancour Industrial Park .

This one was taken a week ago after I visited a ship on Saturday morning. Despite the cold temperature, open water is still present here. Why? Because of the water stream coming from the Industrial Park. Even ducks are passing the winter here taking advantage of this relatively hot water coming all winter. Obviously I was not geared to get closer ( no boots to walk in the marsh, and no tripod or my new camera ), but you can still see a couple of ducks in the fog.

The river bank is protected by a green zone, the First industries are nearly 500 m away. You can see by yourself exploring the map. Behind me were the first terminals of the harbour.

Technically: Just wanted to capture the mood , and emptiness of this winter morning on the Saint-Lawrence shore.
Played a bit with levels and contrasts, before resizing and sharpening for TL.

I don't know whether you could have done better with the moody cloudy weather. The atmosphere is well described and the note gives the finer details about the picture.

hello Robert,
this is a pleasing winter scene. I like the layeing which gives good DOF. first the foreground with its yellowed graaes peeking throughthe snow, then the water and mist and beyond the trees with their winter wonderlandness.

What an attractive industrial park Robert. It looks like a winter painting, very picturesque, and the steam makes a nice foggy look to it too.
