[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
As yesterday picture, I took this one in the desert of Sonora in Mexico. I shoot the image on slide film with a wide angle lens and a polarising filter. I did fix the sky a little in PP since using Polarizing filter on wide angle lens often result in uneven sky density.

Polarisation intensity is function of the angle you point in relation with the sun position and is at a maximum when you are at 90 degree with the sun. Less or more than 90 the density decrease until you are in line with the sun were polaristion doesn't work at all.

Since wide angle lens covers often angle from 60 to 110 degree and even more, you will understand that polarisation effect on these lens is not the same in the center of your image and on the edge of the frame.

As mentionned, I use my Nikon F3 with (I beleive) a 28mm to give a sensation of immensity of the landscape.

The horizon is volontary centered to keep top of the cactus and plenty of FG for the vastness of the landscape. In general I don't center horizon, however I don't see that as a bad compostion either. The idea of not centering a subject is just to bring variety in your image. Centered horizon are not good and are not bad, they are just one more option to consider once in a while.

Slide film was digitalized with an Epson 4180 flat bed scanner.

Camera: Nikon F3
Lens: Nikkor 28 f/2.0 AI
Filter: Vivitar linear polarizer
Film: Ektachrom slide film
Scanner: Epson 4180 flat bed scanner.

Bonjour Alain,

Amicalement

Hi Alain,

Very interesting low level POV capture.
Very good placement of the cactus 1/3 on the left.
Sharp and very nice natural colors.

Ramon

HI Alain,
this landscape looks so unreal - I've never seen such a place in real - must be wonderful, and very hot ;-)
Thanks and greetings

Bonjour Alain

Ah .. me this landscape is peculiar,
I am still alive in my mind of my
trip to Bolivia in the Desert of Uyuni, where the cacti
great are the main vegetation that makes up the landscape.
Beautiful capture of this that seems too huge and
a beautiful color and excellent image definition.
Congratulations, nice shot!

Sergio

Bonjour Alain
