[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
Hi all! This image was inspired by one of my favorite artist/photographer Anton Corbijn. He had a series of photographs that he called lithprints. They are high contrast photos that gave his portraits such powerful impact (at least to me). Anyway, here's my digital version of his lithprints. I achieved the effect by merging two layers of the same photo. One layer with the highlights clipped using curves, and the other with the midtones and shadows clipped and applied USM. And this is the finished product. It doesn't work on all images but when it does it can give your portraits extra character.
As always, thanks for looking.

Clever boy BUT show us the original in WS so that we may see the effect as a comparison?
Now to REALLY look at this one, and aside from any obvious merits such as model, pose, light, compositon, which you know well are admirable, I am having a little problem with the skin tones on everywhere else as opposed to the thighs. There is something amiss? There is a very odd effect that looks like she has very hairy legs???
Apart from that, a photographic style is just that and the appeal of this particular style, although somewhat dated to me, is present and correct and does the job. Still interested in seeing the original ...

Excellent image Anton!! Great composition, definition, use of dof, and tones. The model looks very natural. I'd like to see the original too, but it looks like the model's thighs are in the shadows. I'm not sure she has "hairy legs" like Kit said! BTW, very nice tribute to Corbijn, a fantastic photographer. Very well done, keep 'em comin' my good friend! :0)

Hi Anton! Wonderful portrait, beautiful subject and great explanation on the PP- I like this pose and the BW tones- excellent work! I agree with Koh-Keep them coming!

Best wishes,
Steve

Very nice shot ! Nice model too ! The naivette in her facial expression and the tight fitting clothes (quite a contrast !) makes her so very attractive. TFS !

Very good shot Anton. Well composed, beautiful bw tones and mood...

i like the contrast here Anton :)
it givs very good definition to the models face
well composed photo

points added:)

this is a really natural pose and well presented. i've looked at the original and i think the b&w maintains great features, and even enhances the model's eyes. lovely shades and tones.. well done

Good photo!!!

I like the black and white!!!

thx

Hi Anton,

Lovely subject and lighting. I like the overall feel of the photo, and I also find the tones in the face suit the subject. I'm not entirely sure about the composition; I like it, but something makes it feel a little weak. But great shot, really.
