Another for the scav hunt. This time contrast. I had not planned this particular aspect of the photo, I was simply after a photo of the storm cloud lit by lightning. After loading onto my computer I noticed the power lines. I hadn't much choice for composing as I had to avoid getting some street lights in the frame. But then I thought, the power lines represent electrical power that is puny compared to that within this cloud - a nice contrast between the power harnessed by humans and the raw power of nature. Also the photo was taken shortly before midnight yet the area is very well, almost too well, lit (less significant contrast but there none the less).
I had to crop and remove a few minor blemishes, and adjusted brightness and contrast.

Goodness...no better way to emphasize the contrast of powers! Fantastic, those colours.

i agree .. excellent use of colours... i'm a little confused abt the exposure time... lol .. 15 seconds?!

great shot though, and nice pp

Very interesting abstract - nice composition with lots of mood and anticipation.

I'm guessing he needed 15 seconds of exposure cause he took this at night. The effect looks really nice !!! At first I thought that cloud back there was smoke from an explosion, or from a fire!!

Very eerie, creepy-cool pic. I normally prefer simple, black-and-white, but this is a lot of fun ... hard to turn away.

G'day Stephen
Quite an eye catching "intra-cloud burst", so well framed by greenery.
Very attractive; magenta and green being complementary colors.
Cheers.
Robert
