on our recent trip to clevedon, i saw these two men from the bureau of fisheries watching over the beach, making sure that the fisher folk were within limit of their allowable catch for the day. i had a bit of a chat with them & they showed a lot of pride in what they do. good on them! i'm reading a book on portraiture and photographing people in their environment so i chose a smaller opening on my aperture to see more of their background and stayed somewhere in the 50-60 mm focal range.
on the side. is anyone here familiar with loretta lux? i'm puzzled as to how she does her images. it looks almost caricature-like but what i find fascinating is the color depth of her photos. quite odd. (hence the desaturation on the photo above being inspired by her of late) almost polaroid-ish. i just managed to invent a word here ;-) |
