Yes I do remember that dialogue fron the Fight Club movie Teresa. Your sentiment and photo are most appreciated. I used to wear suit and tie on a daily basis. But not anymore. First there was casual Friday which gradually progressed to working at home. It's been months since I wore a suit to work. This well conceived and executed, nice tone and contrast. Problem is that with the kind help of the media, we're raising our kids in a non-cultural climate, or I should better say, in a culture-repellent climate, where our values are no longer linked to the spiritual, but falsely directed to satisfy our own egos and vanity, where our main concern is how to better spend our money.
EXCELLENT rendering of an idea, Teresa!!! Wonderfully chosen passage from the Fight Club to accompany the posting!
I like the repetition here, the nice range of tonalities and the effective use of the thirds!

Very interesting subject for your shot.

Well it reminds me of the so many different styles of menswear like India's and China's collarless coats, the communist wear, Japan, etc.

And then some people do not wear coats at all, just smart casual and they make tonnes of money.

And then there is the subject of menswear sizes!

you don't know how right your title is...
I work in large format printer support where neutral grayscales are the most difficult thing to achieve - and who complains the most about them? men. who sells those printers, dressed in such elegant, boring outfits? men. who tries to make the most profit out of it? men.
so "grayscale for men" is my daily life...

your photo is like a visual allitteration of grayscales and a personal metaphor of modern tristesse.
you are inspiring in your approach to things.

dear T. your image makes me think of how "homogenized" people are becoming in their way of thinking, dressing, speaking, moving, reading, choosing..
it also reminds me of hoardes of me in the morning rush in the metro or the buses, all of them dressed to kill, all of them running to nowhere following illusions that the current economic climate is disbanding fast and steady-hw appropriate the dialogue you have chosen....

Beautifully composed and the lighting works well considering the tonal range you had to work with...good texture on the black and no blow-out on the white. Well done.

I know it is often out of the photographer's control, but to enhance the regemental pattern of the jackets, some styling on the hangers to be all the same could have been to the benefit of the image.

But the truth is (We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact) that we are not
learning!!

its a fact that this is the reason of all the depressions and frustrations that simply didnt existed 100 years ago!!
IF we learnt we wouldnt suffer...
Now its impossible to avoid ...i wonder about another generation...those who will become adult in the year 2030...how they gonna look like? if we can already now 2008 have the world in our pocket connect by mobile to internet from any place?
This vision is not optimistic..

I like this image not because it's a beautifull one, but it's a very original one. Most people (including me) would have past this subject without seeing any interest in it. But finally it's not that uninteresting. It's orginal. Could simulate peoples in line waiting to go somewhere, or squezed peoples in a bus. It opens a lot our imagination if we want. TFS.
