Final Fitting (for luckybry)

| [Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista |
One more shot of the farrier who was at my brother-in-laws ranch to shoe a horse. Some TL members (Bryan for one) seemed to be interested to see this kind of cowboy thing in action. I agree .. it's not something you get to see everyday, and I was fortunate to be out there when I was, and got the opportunity to see the farrier at work.
This guy, Don, is a real character as are many cowboys, and he was full of ... stories!! He talked to me the whole time he was working. I tried to stay out of his way, and also a safe distance from the back of the horse. Here, he is just outside of the barn door, and was doing a few last adjustments to the horseshoe to get the perfect fit.
I wish I would have been a little lower, and maybe got his eyes in the shot .. but he has a pretty good 'stache!!
Cropped, contrast boosted, converted to B&W, framed and sized. |

Hi Trudy,
Excellent shot! Definitely not something you get to see everyday (or any day over here! Lol). You've pulled the B&W conversion off well. Nicely composed too. I agree, he does have a pretty good 'stache' :). Well seen and well captured.
TFS,
Scott.
what can i say Trudy i am highly honoured to have a pic of your deciated to me specially when it is such a excellent shot thank you so much regards verylucky bry
ps your brother might like the next few shots i am going to post
Hello Trudy,
These sort of shots make fine social documents as the needs and habits of generations change so rapidly, nowadays.
I think your pov and your capture of the peripheral details is very good.
However, the dark jumper and the right boot need a little more contrast. Maybe it is just my monitor but they disappear into a dark shape with no discernable texture or tonal details.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Hi Trudy
Nice B/W mode of these horse shoe making series
I like the details and contrast, but the POV may improve as the main element (horse shoe) is not completely visible.

Hi Trudy
A superb daily life shot, of the farrier, with good sharpness, tonal range & pov. I would just burn in the oe grass/ground top right. Tfs!
