| Introdução: | Hi! I'm a secretary translator living in Leiria-Portugal where I was born. I lived in Canada from the age of 7 to 20 where I did all of my schooling. Most probably I'll be using not so adequate terms to express myself but having returned to Portugal over 30 years ago justifies my loss of fluency due to practically no oral practice of the English language! My username "CallMeMaria" comes back from my school years when I opted for the name Maria/Mary because most people in Canada found it difficult to pronounce Lurdes...My name is Maria de Lurdes but you can "call me Maria"! Photography is my favorite hobby and vice...my passion! My preferences are more inclined towards nature because it presents us with so much beauty without showing it off and, to me, that's what true beauty is all about...down-to-earth. Treklens surely has helped me become aware of certain aspects which I had absolutely no notion of before joining...thank you! I'd like to point out that I'm not familiar with the technical aspects and rules of photography (like I said, I’m just an amateur in this field) and that I don't even possess the terms or knowledge to make professional critiques. So, please excuse me for being so "plain" and brief when I comment on your photos and thank you for your understanding! To be honest, and as I've mentioned here before, I admit that I'm lazy: I never read the instructions of any of my cameras and use them "any old way". I aim and click. I always have my camera set on "ISO" in the automatic mode. So, if the picture comes out good or anywhere close to that, it means that I was lucky! I feel good sharing my photos ...I used to love frames...I'm not hungry for points nor for "backslapping"...and I do believe in and respect the importance of participating in the learn/teach objective of this site. But I'm not a "writer"...I'm just an amateur photographer :) |
