hi (sorry for possible grammar mistakes:)
"infrared" (simply saing) is a sort of filter like an UV or Polarizer, it does not pass some sort of light waves - just an infrared waves (but i'm not sure for 80% even). classical effect is that the leaves are not green (dark) but light - it depends of post process. i use manual white balance with filter on measured on white paper. then i shift colour chanels in PS and thats all - maybe some contrasting and sharpening is needed :)
