Welcome to Treklens. It does take a while to get the best out of a new camera. I bought a copy of Thom Hogan's guide to the Nikon D50 and found it very helpful.This can be ordered online www.bythom.com
The frame is in Photoshop. You will find it in the Layers pallette. First you make a background copy by dragging down to the 2nd from right icon. Then click on the "f" (Add a layer style) and make your selection. To see the effect you add a border in canvas size.
